The entire precinct is structured like a large tea room, and as soon as you step inside, you will feel an extraordinary space.

You can enjoy matcha tea as a private hospitality limited to one group at Shinshoin, which is not accessible to the general public.

If you wish, you can learn how to make a tea and try it yourself.

In spring and early summer, you can feel the refreshing breeze, and in autumn, look at the changing colors of the trees, and enjoy a soothing moment of Japanese hospitality.

(We can also provide chairs, so please let us know if you would like one.)

The tea sweets are also served. If you like it, you can buy and take it home with you.

Listen to a lecture by the priest with the scenery of the garden.
After that, you can relax and feel the seasons while looking at the garden. What do you think of in a different space than usual?

"Jikoin Garden" is designated as one of the Three Great Gardens of Nara and an important cultural property of Japan.

It is a splendid garden created by Sekisyu Katagiri, who is known as an excellent tea master in the Edo period
