A walk through the history of goldfish and indigo dyeing, which goes hand in hand with Nara's leading castle town, a place associated with Toyotomi Hideyoshi's younger brother, Hidenaga.
After enjoying a tour of the castle town, visitors can dress in kimono and experience the ‘hospitality’ of the tea ceremony at Jiko-in Temple, which has a dry landscape garden that is recognised as one of the three best gardens in Nara, with the entire premises built as a single tea ceremony venue.
(There is a special viewing of the dragon ink painting ‘Naki-ryu/flutter echo’ in the main hall, which is normally closed to the public.)
High-quality kimonos are available for women, including Oshima-tsumugi silk, indigo-dyed and silk, and for men, Yuki-tsumugi silk kimonos and haori.

※Optional extra ¥15,000: Commemorative photo shoot by a professional photographer of the hospitality experience at Jikoin; image data to be sent at a later date.
